About Us

Sports X Radio

Sports X Radio evolved from Sports Executives shows that Ken Thomson and Chuck Edel had done together for over 10 years.  Over the years it has become one of the most talked  about shows in Vegas.  Sports X Radio is currently working to capitalize on the solid foundation in what has become one of the greatest sports cities in the United States, that being Las Vegas. With the inception of the Vegas Golden Knights, NHL hockey team, and the NFL’s Raiders announcing their decision to move the team to Las Vegas in 2020, Ken is perfectly situated to exceed the expectations of his sponsors.  Ken is well connected to the Raider fraternity including both former and current players and management, as well as, the iconic Raider fan base.  Together with some of the most prestigious guests, Ken Thomson the host of Sports X Radio, provides some of the most in depth sports knowledge, especially when it comes to sports gaming and as Ken calls it, the game within the game.

Ken Thomson

kenKen Thomson, Host of Sports X Radio, is a veteran sportscaster of more than 25 years and has become a trusted authority due to his expertise in all major sports. He provides versatility with his extensive knowledge and memory and Ken covers it all.  KT as he’s known to his friends, has expanded to several different sports platforms with expertise in the Sports information & sports gaming industries.  Ken recently appeared on the VSiN Network owned by Brent Musberger & Associates.  The recent COVID-19 pandemic has slowed down a lot of stuff in the industry & KT is hoping to resume again with the VSiN crew but for now KT continues his SportsXradio Show in Las Vegas on KDWN 720 AM/101.5 FM Monday through Friday 8-10 PM PACIFIC TIME.  All shows are archived on SoundCloud.

With Ken’s strong background in play by play in baseball, basketball and football, the transition to sports talk radio was easy. Ken’s first sports casting job was in the US Navy, aboard an Aircraft Carrier ( USS Ranger CV 61 ). With 5,500 sailors on board and no internet back in the eighties, “I was the only guy with the scores when out at sea, thousands of miles away from the states.”

Ken also worked in the NCAA college basketball world, calling games for UC Riverside and Long Beach State. He has hosted sports talk radio shows throughout the country and remains well connected to NCAA teams. Ken also knows many college coaches and broadcasters for over 50 universities nationwide.

“Our Friday night shows are my favorites. My partner for over ten years, Chuck Edel and I, break down all the games for the weekend. Football season is the best and somehow we are able to touch on every game, both College & Pro in scheduling order. With the show originating in Vegas, I try to blend top line interviews and sports information with a slight dash of Las Vegas line flavor.”
